Stan Koper BSc
Having worked for many leading house builders in the housing industry for over 28 years and co-founding Oakton, Stan brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Company providing leadership, professionalism and inspiration, co-ordinating a motivated team which delivers well designed homes to exacting high standards.
Best bit of the job: “Every day is different, it’s a constantly changing environment. I derive great satisfaction from buying a new site and seeing the first homes come out of the ground, being completed and occupied by our buyers”.
A little bit extra: Stan loves skiing and sailing.
Ruth a co-founder and Finance Director of Oakton steers the company’s strategic growth whilst managing many issues relating to the construction of each build including the design of the homes and the sales and marketing process. An important part of what Ruth does is to ensure all our resources are used efficiently and effectively and that the company’s obligations to our customers, suppliers and our sub-contractors are met.
Best bit of the job: “Building high quality homes in an area I love and working with a brilliant team of equally enthusiastic people.”
A little bit extra: Oakton is Ruth’s maiden name; her dad, being an only child and father of 3 daughters, is very happy in the knowledge that his name will be carried on in Oakton Developments.
John Mayes BSc
John, through his wealth of experience gained from over 28 years in the industry working for major housebuilders on the production and delivery of quality homes, heads up the construction team. He is responsible for the day-to-day running of projects from the early stages of the build through to completion and hand-over, monitoring the progress of each development, ensuring that they are delivered on time whilst maintaining a high-quality finish.
Best bit of the job: “When a plan comes together and seeing the new homeowners comfortably established in a home we have built.”
A little bit extra: John’s passion is music and guitars, and he believes you can never have enough guitars!
Sam joined the company at the end of 2014 as Site Manager and brings a dedicated and focused approach to his role. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of Oakton’s developments. Sam’s strong people skills and team approach means he can communicate effectively with home buyers, sub-contractors and suppliers alike, resulting in an efficient and happy site with homes built to exacting standards.
Best bit of the job: “I really enjoy overcoming challenges that occur on site. I’m proud to be part of such a great team.”
A little bit extra: Sam originally met the Oakton team as a sub-contractor. When he heard they were looking for a Site Manager he put himself forward, and hasn’t looked back since.
Celia joined Oakton in 2010, undertaking accounting and book-keeping duties and general administrative duties in the office.Celia provides essential support to all members of the team, both those who are office based and those who work on site.
Best bit of the job: “I really enjoy working in a relaxed and happy atmosphere.”
A little bit extra: Celia keeps her work colleagues “sweet” by regularly providing home-made cakes.
Artek works on developments dealing with subcontractors, supply and operation of essential plant, delivery, and storage of materials. He is also responsible for maintaining site security, keeping the development running smoothly, and providing a seamless transition between sub-contractors. Artek is a qualified banksman, plant operator and a capable all-round tradesman.
Best bit of the job: “I enjoy driving the machines, everything from excavators to forklifts.”
A little bit extra: Artek loves spending his spare time fishing and cycling, and dreams of one day owning a motorbike.
Sales & After Sales Manager
Suzy joined Oakton in 2011 as Sales and After Sales Manager. She is involved in the marketing and sales at an early stage, guiding each buyer through the homebuying process and advising what personal choices are available to ensure their new home is exactly how they want it. On moving in day Suzy is on hand to introduce each buyer to their new house, and to make sure they are familiar with all the workings of their new modern home.
Best bit of the job: “Being part of a fun-loving team and helping Oakton buyers through the exciting process of choosing the finishes in their beautiful new home.”
A little bit extra: When Suzy is not working for Oakton she is a busy mum to her two lovely boys, Harry and Luke.
Tom comes from a construction background and has been in the industry for over 20 years. As an integral member of the site team he is involved on a day to day basis dealing with subcontractors, and the supply and operation of essential plant, delivery, and storage of materials. Tom also has responsibility for site security, and helps to keep the development running smoothly, providing a seamless transition between sub-contractors. Tom is a qualified banksman, plant operator and a capable all round tradesman.
Best bit of the job: “Working outside in the fresh air (especially in the Summer in the beautiful weather).”
A little bit extra: Tom has spent the last few years rebuilding his 1956 Willys Jeep CG3B.
Kasia ensures that the office runs smoothly and efficiently, by providing the necessary admin support to all staff & departments.
Best bit of the job: “Learning new skills and working with a great team of positive people.”
A little bit extra: Kasia loves to keep fit by running and cycling on Epsom Common.
Bradley is the youngest member of the team and provides logistical support and assists in all duties performed on site. He is an enthusiastic member of the team keen to carry out each task to the best of his ability.
Best bit of the job: “Working with such a great team of characters that I can call my friends.”
A little bit extra: Brad has a passion for film-making and is proud to have worked on two Royal Television Society Award winning films.
Izzy and Ted
Izzy and Ted are the office dogs, whose main job is to enthusiastically greet all visitors.
Best bit of the day: Going to site for a catch up with Elsie.
A little extra fact: Izzy was taught to fetch the post – but after chewing through a few too many invoices was relieved of these duties!
Elsie is a great guard dog and alerts site staff of any visitors.
Best bit of the job: Getting anybody on site to throw a ball for me!
A little bit extra: Elsie (and Izzy) featured on the 2015 Oakton Developments Christmas Card.
